Eric Liddel Centre
The Eric Liddell Centre is a community resource in South Edinburgh, offering a range of caring projects. The centre is also the base for various charity shops and a community cafe.
Cafe Connect is the community cafe, and is open to the general public. It offers a Lunch Service which aims to reduce social isolation faced by older people, carers and the people they care for. The lunch service is held every Wednesday and Friday from 12.00 pm – 2.00 pm. Customers can call 0131 447 4520 book a table and enjoy a healthy and nutritious lunch in a friendly and welcoming environment. The cost for the two course lunch is £6 pp. Volunteers are on hand to provide company and conversation. From January 2014 the first 100 lunch service customers will receive a half price voucher entitling them to their two course lunch for £3 instead of £6.
There is a varied programme of activities taking place at the centre. This is updated regularly, and includes things like:
