Support in Mind Carers Support

Support in Mind offers various support projects for carers

Edinburgh Carers Support Project offers support and information to carers (partners, friends and relatives) of those with any serious mental illness. The Project is based at the Stafford Centre.

The project offers information, advice, practical and emotional support.

Caring Connections is a national service for carers (family/friends) of people being treated within forensic mental health services throughout Scotland. the service provides support and appropriate information to carers throughout the key stages of their journey through the Forensic Mental Health Services.  By doing this the carer may feel better supported and informed of their own rights and more able to support their relative/friend who is receiving care and treatment.  Supporting families and friends in this way may go some way to maintaining or rebuilding relationships.

Carers & Relatives Alliance (CARA)  is a friendly support group for anyone affected by mental illness, including friends, family, partners and carers. the groups meets together to share experiences and make time for ourselves. Members support each other, share information and learn skills to help us cope. The group is very informal and welcoming. The group meets on the first Tuesday of most months at the Stafford Centre, 103 Broughton Street, Edinburgh 6/6.30pm to 8pm (Please call to confirm).
