Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution
Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution supports best practice in mediation and conflict resolution by delivering free training/events and developing innovative and engaging psychoeducational digital resources.
The Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution delivers a progressive model of earlier and preventative intervention, with both a universal and targeted approach to tackling inequalities. In doing so, they support young people, families, and those working with them, to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to transform conflict, improve wellbeing, relationships and lives.
Conflict and disagreements happen in all our lives for a myriad of reasons, often with minimal consequences, however sometimes the impact can be devastating and debilitating, with the propensity to affect our relationships, life chances, mental health and wellbeing.
Currently funded by the Scottish Government under the Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities Fund, Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) is a national resource centre promoting and supporting best practice in mediation, family conflict resolution and early intervention work with a particular focus around young people and families. Built on partnerships with a wide variety of colleagues and collaborators across the country, the SCCR focuses on young people and families experiencing conflict that is affecting their relationships and lives.
Through a series of free training, events and digital psychoeducational resources, they aim to nurture people to develop conflict resolution skills, improve understanding of conflict and emotional needs and change the culture of conflict in Scotland. Their training, events and resources are developed and delivered by a highly qualified and expert staff team –
