Safer Families Edinburgh

Safer Families Edinburgh is for men who are unhappy about the way they are behaving towards their partners and want to change. It is a 25 week group work programme preceded by about 14 individual preparation sessions.

when yoiu get in touch, and initial meeting will be arranged with one of the workers.  At that meeting, the worker will ask you about why you want to change.  They will tell you about how we work and you can ask questions to help you decide if our programme is what you are looking for. The programme is designed to help you understand why you have been abusive, and to help you learn new ways of thinking about things and new ways of behaving.

If you have been convicted at court you can access the Caledonian Edinburgh programme.

There is a seperate women’s service. Your partner or ex partner can decide if she wants to meet with a worker from the women’s project. The service does not work with men and women together as couples.
