Redhall Walled Garden (SAMH)

Redhall Walled Garden is one of SAMH’s therapeutic horticultural projects. They work to improve mental health through gardening and a variety of outdoor tasks.

Service Description

It is a working organic garden open to the public on weekdays from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm.

No previous experience of gardening is necessary, just willingness and enthusiasm to learn.

Participants are paired with a key worker to help achieve positive next steps in their recovery. Support is available to help improve health and wellbeing, develop better self-management and actively engage in employability, volunteering and educational opportunities.

There is a computer suite on-site where classes are held. Classes include IT for beginners, digital skills courses and the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).

The Redhall Walled Garden offers a supportive environment for learning skills, being more active, spending time in nature and working alongside others. They ask for a commitment of 3 days per week to help establish structure and routine. Deciding on personal goals and making positive changes is a key part of Redhall, which can develop into feeling better equipped and more resilient in the future.
