Positive Help’s team of volunteer drivers provide lifts to medical care and treatment, social care appointments and activities for HIV/ Hep C positive clients. Volunteers can collect and deliver prescriptions to clients’ homes and can also help with food shopping with clients.
Home support volunteers step in to offer assistance with day to day cleaning and tidying, gardening, food shopping, and other household tasks. Positive Help offers home support on both a regular and one-off basis.
Children and Young People’s Befriending
The befriending service is for children and young people who are either HIV/ Hep C positive or whose parent or parents have HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C. Volunteer befrienders are matched with children aged three to 18 and on a fortnightly basis they engage in a fun activity together – from a visit to the zoo to a picnic in the park, from a trip to the seaside to climbing Arthur’s Seat, from swimming to an afternoon at the movies and an outing to a cafe.
