PF Counselling Service
Counselling may help you if you have a sense that something is not quite right and it’s beginning to affect your quality of life on a day to day basis. Counselling at the PF offers this support in the form of a confidential environment with professional help to explore and identify the root problems, while working towards resolving them.
At the PF you can expect a professional service where you will be given the opportunity to:
- talk over your situation in confidence
- reach a better understanding of your difficulties
- decide the best way forward for yourself
Regular weekly sessions last for 50 minutes with a counsellor, and take place in the PF premises at the same time, on the same day each week.
The PF Young Adults counselling service (PFYA) is an extension of our counselling service specifically for young adults aged 18 to 25 years old. All counselling appointments are on a Saturday. The counselling is offered on a time-limited basis of 12 sessions initially, which may be extended by a further 12 sessions if appropriate, but it is not a long term service.
Anyone can use the PF regardless of ability to pay. All clients are asked to make a donation according to their genuine ability to do so.
The PF is a member of COSCA – Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland. If you would like to find out more information on this regulatory body, please click here – COSCA
This service is available for people who reside in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
