Pathways – Bereavement support course

Pathways is a 6 week programme which aims to support people on their bereavement journey.

Service Description

Pathways is led by a facilitator and a team of trained volunteers. Professionals such as GPs, nutritionists and staff from Citizen’s Advice Bureau, will also be invited to attend sessions. 

Barclay Viewforth Church has found providing a safe space and support, people can learn how to manage their thoughts and feelings.

Pathways will provide an opportunity for you to share, grow confidence and further your understanding of your own emotions

If you are in need of more support than Pathways can provide, their team will refer you to relevant service and can support you to attend appointments if required.

Evening programme

Dates: Tuesdays (29 October – 3 December)
Times: 7.00 pm – 8.30 pm
Location: The Treehouse Café, 44 Leven Street

Daytime programme

Dates: Mondays (24 February – 30 March 2020)
Times: 10.30 am – 12.00 pm
Location: Pillar Hall, Barclay Viewforth Church

    • Any person who is living with bereavement.

Residency:

This service is available to residents of all parts of Edinburgh

Applicants for this service should also meet this condition:

People aged 18 years old and over may join this course.
Young people and children would be refered to Richmond Hope for bereavement support.

Referral

Self Referral

This service accepts direct self referrals.

Agency Referral

GP’s or other organisations working with people who have been bereaved.

This service has the following facilities:

  • Wheelchair Access
  • Creche facilities are not available at this location.
