LGBT Youth Scotland
LGBT Youth Scotland support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender young people and their friends.
They provide information and advice about a wide range of topics, including coming out, keeping well mentally and bullying.
One-to-one advice is available online with a trained youth worker. Workers can chat with you about anything from your sexual or gender identity; coming out; relationship issues; bullying; to sexual health – this is a private place designed for you to comfortably chat with Digital Youth Worker. All conversations are fully confidential.
If LiveChat isn’t for you then you can speak to a digital youth worker by email (email@example.com) or text (07786202370)
There are also a range of groups and activities across Scotland. The groups are a great place to meet new people and you can chat to a youth worker as a group or one-to-one. There are several groups in Edinburgh that meet regularly in 40 Commercial Street, EH6 6JD:
InfiniT – for younger transgender people aged 13-16 years. It meets every Monday from 5.30pm-7.30pm
Beyond Gender – for transgender people aged 17 – 25, every Tuesday evening from 7.00 – 9.00 pm.
Sound Youth –for LGBT people aged 13 – 16. Every Wednesday from 6.30 – 8.30 pm
Vada – for LGBT people aged 17 – 25. Every Thursday from 7.00 – 9.00pm
All our groups are drop-in sessions, so you can decide how often and for how long you attend a group. If you’re coming to a group for the first time and are feeling a bit nervous, just get in touch with us! We can support you to access youth groups in a way that feels comfortable and manageable for you.
To keep up to date with the latest youth group information in your area you can visit the youth group listing page on the main LGBT Youth website here.
