Gingerbread – Counselling Service
Gingerbread Childcare services support parents and carers who look after children. They offer two counselling, legal advice and information, and various childrens groups.
Informal Counselling: This can be conducted over the telephone and to persons visiting the office. Anyone needing more specialised counselling can be advised on the appropriate professional agency to contact.
In-depth Counselling: Anyone requiring more in-depth counselling can make an appointment to speak to the Gingerbread counsellor in the strictest confidence at any time within our office hours. Appointments last approximately one hour. Appointments are made through the office. This service is free. This service is not accreditated / member of a regulatory body.
There are Free Legal Clinics conducted by qualified lawyers who donate their time free of charge. Legal advice or a second opinion is provided. Appointments are made through the office and have to be confirmed before 11.00am on the appointment day.
There are also a range of childcare groups such as playschemes and after schools clubs that meet during term time. See the website for current schedule.

Gingerbread provide an Information/Advice Centre, legal and counselling clinics, five after school care clubs (Prestonfield, Lorne, St Cuthberts, Tollcross and Dalry Primary Schools), we also provide breakfast clubs at Dalry and Tolcross as well as wrap-around at Tollcross. During school holidays we provide playschemes and cover for in-service days. These are held at Tollcross and Prestonfield Primary Schools.
