Get Up and Go
Get Up and Go is an activities magazine aimed at people aged 50 years and over, including elders from the black minority ethnic community.
Get Up and Go is designed, developed and distributed by Edinburgh City Libraries. It has been developed in line with "A City for All Ages" – a city-wide drive to improve the lives of older people and help them to overcome the many barriers they face.
The magazine has details about lots of different activities and things to do – including social, educational, cultural, sport and leisure opportunities that are currently running throughout the city. It also contains information on the services provided by Edinburgh City Libraries.
There is a range of activities included, from meditation, dressmaking, singing, walking, bowling, writing, dancing, acting and yoga. Keeping an active mind and body can enhance your health!
The magazine comes out yearly, with new editions published each October. If you would like details on the activities, please phone the listed venue or contact person directly. YourEdinburgh is an online database of all the activities listed in the magazine. You can see this here.
Get Up and Go magazines are available in libraries across Edinburgh. You can also contact Grainne for a hard copy of the magazine, by emailing Getupandgo@edinburgh.gov.uk
