Edinburgh Crisis Centre
The Edinburgh Crisis Centre provides 24-hour practical and emotional support in times of crisis. Support is available both through a telephone helpline, and face-to-face.
Staff can support you to deal with difficult feelings or thoughts you may be experiencing during a time of crisis. Carers of people who have mental health difficulties can also fully access all the services at the Crisis Centre.
The 24-hour telephone helpline is for people in Edinburgh who are 16 years old and over and who are experiencing mental health distress. The telephone helpline can be used anonymously.

Face-to-face support is arranged via the freephone helpline. Staff at the centre will offer emotional support and practical help to develop a crisis plan.
When you call the helpline, staff will make an appointment for you to come in for face-to-face support. Appointments are generally offered the same day as you call. If the centre is very busy, you may be offered telephone support until the next day. The centre also has facilities for overnight stays.

Applicants for this service should also meet this condition:
People living with Edinburgh City and who are aged 16 or over.
This service accepts direct self referrals.
