Service Description

Craigmillar Community Grows offers local people the chance to come together, learn new skills and enjoy spending time outdoors.

Community Project Worker Karin Chipulina works with local groups to develop outdoor spaces and community gardens. The aim of the project is to combat isolation and help people to lead healthier lives in the Craigmillar area.

Green Fingers – Gardening and Woodland Work
Date: Every Monday
Time: 11:00 pm – 12:30pm
Location: Sandy’s Community Centre, 76 Craigmillar Castle Avenue, Edinburgh EH16 4DW

Opportunities

Craigmillar library is also looking for garden volunteers on Wednesdays 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Carr-Gomm Scotland supports people with a range of impairments, health problems, disadvantages and different ages.

Carr-Gomm Scotland is able to support people who need very intensive support and also low levels of support, with the flexibility to respond to changing requirements. The age range of people we support is currently 18 to 98 years. Co-working with families, social work, health and housing is a key part of our approach, as is supporting people who use our services to develop their own organisations.

We support people of any age who live with their family or have their own house, who have any disability or illness, or who have other reasons for needing help

  • Making and keeping friends

  • Deciding what you want to do with your time and helping you to do it
