Craigmillar Community Grows

Craigmillar Community Grows offers local people the chance to come together, learn new skills and enjoy spending time outdoors.

Service Description

The project aims to get people to meet each other, combat isolation and feel healthier.

Community Grows do this in various ways by encouraging people of all ages to take part in their environment either by volunteering in the many gardens around Craigmillar, joining in workshops or outdoor events or help to host with other organisations. This involves working with schools and other organisations.

Community Grows have helped develop Caring in Craigmillar’s outdoor sensory space and Sandy’s community centre’s growing and educational outside area.

Additionally, the project works with local organisations such as ESOL to help people with learning English through cooking and gardening.
