The School of Hard Knocks (SohK) has a new wellbeing course, Changing Lives, which will work with people aged 18 years old and over to help them take positive steps forward in their lives. Whether that be feeling fitter, more motivated or happier along with exploring any social inclusion, further education and volunteering goals.
With a more holistic and personal development approach, this course will have a bigger focus on basic life skills – with the objective of improving mental and physical wellbeing. Where SohK’s previous courses have been built around our use of rugby, this new course will include much more gentle exercise such as stretching, walking and touch rugby.
The course will include food education courses as well as modules on motivation, confidence building, mindset and goal setting.
The course aims are for each participant to move forward in their life whether that be feeling fitter, more motivated or happier along with exploring any social inclusion, further education and volunteering goals.
The course will be run by 3 members of the School of Hard Knocks staff with physical activity and cooking class input from external delivery partners including Edinburgh Community yoga and Cyrenians.
During the course, you will work towards a Level 4 qualification in wellbeing plus basic cooking qualifications. SohK provide breakfast, lunch and bus travel along with providing any necessary training kit.
