Care for Carers
Care for Carers supports people who care for someone else. A carer is someone who looks after someone else on an unpaid basis.
Carer for Carers offers
- learning for carers, including relaxation and stress management courses
- support groups and group meetings
- information and advice
- short respite breaks, called “Stepping out”
These services are available across Edinburgh. In North East Edinburgh one to one support is also available.
There is a newsletter which is published every two months. This has information about various topics which may be of relevance or offer support to carers locally and citywide. Contact Care for Carers for more information or to sign up to the mailing list.

an adult carer over the age of 16 years old
This service accepts direct self referrals.
