6VT Youth Café is a safe space for young people in Edinburgh aged from 14-21.
The core service is Drop In, which is open to any young person in Edinburgh. Here young people can access free internet, a coffee bar, and affordable hot meals.
Each month there is a programme of social, educational and personal development activities which young people can participate in if they wish.
Young people can also access sexual health and free condoms. 6VT Youth Cafe is a 3rd Party Reporting Centre, for people to report any crime if they don’t feel confident going to the police.
As well as this, 6VT offers various other services.
6VT’s Terrace Tots runs every Tuesday 10.30am – 1pm. Young and expectant parents and their children can come along, meet other young parent’s and share experiences or try out some new activities such as baby massage, cooking with kids, baby first aid, outings etc. Lunch will be provided.
The Keysteps project offers courses to young people who either are or have been homeless, or have recently moved out of home, or are thinking of moving out soon.
Regular courses run to help young people manage their tenants either now or in the future. Topics covered include personal safety, DIY, budgeting, food hygiene & cooking, rights & responsibilities, housing options, and more.
