The Out and About Group
The Out and About Group is run by volunteers and supported by the Royal Voluntary Service. The primary aim of the group is to provide opportunities for older people to meet each other and to go on outings together to local places of interest.
The group meets at the Eric Liddell Centre and from there will travel by bus to the group’s destination. The outing will involve a short walk, time sitting down together as a group and enjoying some refreshments. Once the outing is finished, the group returns to the Eric Liddell Centre.
The group aims to improve the lives of older people by offering people friendship and helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. The plan for the group is to keep the number of participants small, this will help ensure that all people feel included in the group.]
