She Stepped Backwards In front of The Words in Edinburgh: An Active Discussion
May 15 @ 6.00 pm - 8.30 pm
CAPS Independent Advocacy is hosting an interactive art event in collaboration with Emily Furneaux.
Emily Furneaux’s Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival project ‘She Stepped Backwards In Front of the Words Behind Her’ explores their own experience with psychosis. She uses it as a means to unravel an often stigmatised and bewildering aspect of mental health.
What To Expect
The evening will begin at the CAPS meeting rooms. Emily will speak to the attendees about why she has made this project and encourage playful methods to undress psychosis.
There will then be a walking tour where participants will then have the opportunity to listen to the audio. If you have any mobility issues, participants are welcome to listen to the audio at the CAPS meeting room.
After the walk, the group will return to the CAPS meeting room to respond to the work through open discussion with Emily and members of the CAPS ‘Experiences of Psychosis’ project.
All are welcome.
Date: Wednesday 15 May 2019
Time: 6.00 pm – 8.30 pm.
