The Food Station

The Food Station runs cooking courses, a community growing space and a social group called Food for Thought, all of which are based in Polwarth. The Food Station is a project managed by Fresh Start.

Free cooking classes run regularly, focusing on healthy, simple and budget friendly meals.  You will work alongside our friendly volunteers in a relaxed and informal kitchen, and you can take home what you cook, although there is an opportunity to sit down after the class and sample what you have made.  All ingredients are provided. Classes are open to adults aged 16 and over. The courses begin at the start of each month on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, and run in 4 week blocks.

The Community Growing Spaces helps people gain gardening skills, life skills and increase social networks. Volunteers work together to plan and maintain the growing space. The produce is used in the cooking classes. The Growing Space is open Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Classes and activities are free to attend. Please get in touch if you’re interested in any of of the services and a member of staff will get in contact with you shortly.
