Health In Mind

Health In Mind offers a range of service to help people cope with mental health difficulties. HiM aims to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in Scotland.

Edinburgh based services include:

  • HPS Connections – One to one support for people living in South East Edinburgh.
  • Befriending – volunteers provide one to one support to help people develop their confidence and self esteem.
  • Anxiety and Depression peer support project – support to self manage through groups including the Edinburgh Depression and Anxiety group.
  • LOOPS Community Navigator – information outreach for older people in South West or South East Edinburgh.
  • Talking Therapies. This includes:
    • Guided Self Help – short term CBT based therapy for people with mild to moderate stress / anxiety / depression and / or low mood.
    • Craigmillar Counselling – short term one to one emotional support for people living in Greater Craigmillar
    • Trauma Counselling – Specialist support for adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse
    • Trauma Counselling Line Scotland (TCLS) – case managed counselling for adults living in Scotland, who have experienced any type of abuse or neglect in childhood, and who are either : from a minority ethnic community; have a disability; or who live in a remote / rural area.
  • Trauma Services – one to one practical support for people who have experienced childhood abuse. There are dedicated services for men and women.
  • Equal Access provides support for people from black & minority ethnic communities who are experiencing feelings of stress or isolation
