Learn skills, share skills, make use of your time!

Edinburgh Futures Resource Hub has been set up as a base to allow anyone who is homeless, has recently been homeless or is at risk of homelessness (this can be interpreted to include anyone who struggles with mental health issues, addictions or is socially isolated), to develop skills and resilience to overcome the barriers to social inclusion which many individuals have had to face in such circumstances. The project aims to challenge these issues through an open, supportive and safe environment for individuals to use the services on offer, including skills and confidence workshops, IT sessions as well as more general living skills such as cooking or tenancy sustainment.

Daily drop in sessions are run by project staff along with volunteers and peer mentors with an emphasis on skills sharing and personal development within a person centred setting. The service does not place any restrictions or expectations on individuals to attend specific courses or a set number of days per week, instead allowing service users to use the project within their own routine and engage with workshops and courses which they are interested in, at times which suit them. Our daily text service lets people know what is happening the next day at the Hub, which is useful for folk who find it hard to plan ahead.
